June 19, 2020 by Alison Davitt in Preschool

We had so much fun during our ice cream week! The kids are pretty excited for camping week and I have to say that I agree. If you are just joining us, you can find our Summer Reading Printable here! We have quite a few camping books so I will link them below. As always, check your local library for curbside pick up if you want try any of these out!

Activities

Build Your Own S’mores Trail Mix

S’mores Trail Mix: We will do this for snack or a dessert for a movie night! The kids can build their own trail mix with marshmallows, chocolate chips, teddy grahams and s’mores goldfish crackers.

Marshmallow Building

Marshmallow Building: Simple and open ended! I will give the kids mini and regular marshmallows with toothpicks so they can create whatever they want!

Teddy Bear Toast

Teddy Bear Toast: This book is a favorite. It is sweet and the illustrations are beautiful. This will be a morning snack when we read this book. I have used bananas and blueberries before but marshmallows and chocolate chips seemed fitting for the theme.

Marshmallow Patterns

Marshmallow Patterns: I have a feeling this will turn into marshmallow painting! I set up a few marshmallow paint dots and I will have the kids finish each pattern.

Teddy Bear Scavenger Hunt

Bear Hunt: I did a scavenger hunt on and it was a huge it! I thought on the day we read, Going On a Bear Hunt, I could hide a few teddy bears for them to find using post-it note clues!

It is going to be a fun week! I think the kids are most looking forward to camping outside with their daddy and a few bon fires with s’mores. These themes are just meant to give us a little structure and fun to look forward to. We have been enjoying the intentional time together as a family!
