I took my original play dough recipe and made it gingerbread scented! I know that everyone is all about peppermint right now, but I am a gingerbread fan through and through. This playdough smells heavenly and is actually the easiest recipe I've made yet!
We are having so much fun this fall! It feels like the first season that we are able to embrace all of the festive activities and outings as a family of four! I decided it would be fun to make a few fall/Halloween treats with the kids using our Re-Play Recycled plates and snack cups. Working in the kitchen with the kids takes all my patience, but it really is worth it!
We have gone through a lot of playdough since E has been old enough to play with it! In an effort save some money we tried to make our own.
Breakfast has always been the hardest meal to find something filling for him to eat. I decided to adapt a traditional banana bread recipe, and it turned out really well! He loves it and I feel comfortable giving it to him and Emma.
Emma has been a pretty picky eater since I started making her baby food at six months. And while we definitely still give her veggies at meals, incorporating them into smoothies reassures me that she's actually consuming them without the struggle! We've tried a lot of different variations of smoothies but these two have been our favorite combinations so far. I like adding the plain greek yogurt in both of them for some added protein too!
As Emma gets older, I really love having her help me in the kitchen. It always takes longer and it's a lot messier, but the moments together are just so sweet! We made a few easy treats for Valentine's day that were more assembling than cooking, but we won't tell her that ;)
In all honesty, I really do love to cook. However, I have a hard time chopping, measuring, checking a recipe, making a playdoh castle and bouncing a baby on my hip all at the same time. So right now, the crock pot is my jam.My love for the crock pot is REAL, people.
We don't really celebrate St. Patrick's Day around here and I know the kids would be freaked out by leprechauns BUT I love an excuse for a new homemade playdough!
