Cooking With Kids // Halloween
We are having so much fun this fall! It feels like the first season that we are able to embrace all of the festive activities and outings as a family of four! I decided it would be fun to make a few fall/Halloween treats with the kids using our Re-Play Recycled plates and snack cups. Working in the kitchen with the kids takes all my patience, but it really is worth it!

Frozen Yogurt Pumpkin Bark
- 1 Cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt
- 1/4 Cup Pumpkin
- 1 & 1/2 tsp Honey
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
- Pumpkin Seeds (no shells)
- Granola
Directions: Combine ingredients (except pumpkin seeds and granola) and mix together. Spread mixture out on a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper. Sprinkle seeds and granola generously. Place in freezer until completely frozen. Break the bark into little pieces and store in the freezer!
Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1 TBSP Vanilla
- 1 & 1/2 TBSP Pumpkin Spice
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Box Cinnamon Chex Cereal
- 2 Cups Pretzels
- Candy Corn
- Pumpkin Seeds (no shells)
Directions: Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Mix melted butter, brown sugar, pumpkin spice and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix cereal and pretzels. Pour butter mixture onto the cereal mixture and stir to combine. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and pour mixture to cover. Bake for about 20 minutes, stopping to stir halfway through. Allow the mix to dry and cool completely before transferring to a container! We sprinkled in the candy corn and pumpkin seeds right before we ate it!
I had both kiddos help with this one which is why there aren't any pictures of the process ;)
Spider Sandwiches
- Bread
- Pretzel Sticks
- Circle Cookie Cutter (you can also use a cup or a bowl!)
- Candy Eyes (found ours at Target!)
- Sandwich Ingredients (we used almond butter and jelly but this would work for any kind of sandwich!)
Directions: I used a circle cookie cutter to cut the bread and then we assembled the sandwich like normal! Emma pushed in the pretzel sticks for legs and added the candy eyes. This was our favorite snack out of the three!
The Halloween plates and snack cups from Re-Play Recycled are so cute and so perfect for my two toddlers to use. All of their products are made in the United States out of recycled milk jugs. We are so impressed with these products and love that they are durable, affordable and eco-friendly.
Happy Snacking!
