The Importance of Adaptive Clothing

November 09, 2017 by Alison Davitt in Baby + Toddler, Style

I am so excited to share Pintsize with you! Pintsize is an online children's clothing shop, specifically designed for children with sensory needs. All of the clothing is handmade by moms who run their own etsy shops and are created with incredibly soft fabric and without tags, zippers, buttons, snaps or ties. All of the clothing is reversible and most pieces can be worn forward or backward! All of these features respect sensory needs and foster independence. Even with my own children, getting ready and out the door can be a daunting task. My three-year-old was able to put on her pink tunic from Pintsize without assistance. My 18 month old has shown aversion to tags and itchy seams (who doesn't?!) and was so comfortable in his hoodie and joggers!

Companies likes Pintsize make my former Special Ed teacher/mama heart sing! Children with sensory processing disorder or who are on the Autism Spectrum, feel aspects of everyday clothing so intensely. These clothes have been made with such beautiful colors and fabrics and in adorable styles allowing all children the option for on-trend, affordable clothing. There are options in 0-6T and 7-16 sizing. Pintsize will even create custom designs for your unique child!

Emma is wearing the slouchy sweater in coral and her gingham bow from the Lively Mae Bow shop. Henry is wearing the french terry hoodie and joggers. You can find all of their products here!

These products were received courtesy of Pintsize. All opinions are my own.
